Tuesday June 7

Today we worked on making 10. We sang what makes ten and used paper to make chairs to show what makes 10. The children made a chain and added their addition sentence to the chain. Have your child share what makes 10. 

We talked about what we know about insects and made a list of all the insects we knew. We looked at non fiction books to look at pictures of insects.

We watched "Inspect an Insect" and we learned the 3 ways to tell if a creature is an insect. Ask your child to share about insects.

We had centers and played in the hub with the big blue blocks. 

Tomorrow, we may go on a community walk depending on the weather. Please dress accordingly. 

Friday is AM kindergarten. 

Tomorrow is the last day for book exchange for the year. Please return your books for next week so that Mrs. Carde can catalogue all of the books . Thank you.

Thursday June 16- Celebration of Learning. Come anytime between 6:00pm through 7:15pm to view and celebrate some of the work your child has been working on at school.

Today we chose 3 books to come home for home reading. Please send the books back on Thursday and write the book titles only ONCE on the book log sheet. Happy Reading :) We read, " I Am Love " and talked about what makes us feel loved. We drew picture about what love is and shared with the class.  We played bears in den and practiced making 10. We are practicing using our fingers and counting on to help us figure out ways to make 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music and AM and Mrs. McLean's class had gym.  Today we watched the a video to kick start the Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser. We looked at Bees today. We read some non fiction stories about Bees and Sci Kids video about Busy Bees. Ask your child what they learned about bees.  We did a guided drawing of a bee. We were so impressed by our learners and their drawings. They have become quite the artists.  We practiced our make ten card game with a partner.  We played  " Fuzz Bugs Number Factory " and practiced making number bonds to 10. Monday May 16

 Today was class picture day.  We exchanged our home reading. Your child brought home 3 books. Please return them on Thursday. We did our school wide write for Kindergarten today. We looked at a picture of Spring and wrote about all the things we saw or like to do in the Spring. The children are really working hard at writing down the sounds they hear in the words. We are so proud of all the progress they have made in their writing this year.  We started our research about Dolphins. We read, "Dolphins" and watch videos about the dolphin. Ask your child to share an interesting fact they learned about dolphins.  We had centers. AM kindergarten went outside.
