Today was a fabulous day at school!  We continue to learn about bats and how they hibernate in the winter.  We spent time exploring bat books to look closer at bats.  We had 3 bat centers where we used playdoh to make a bat, used magnifying glasses to look at crickets closely and we used loose parts to make homes for bats.  Please ask your child what bat center they liked best.  Please ask your child to share 2 bat facts with you. We had music with Mrs. Coulson.  Please ask your child what they did in the music room.  We had gym with Mr. Campbell and continued playing the pirate game to move the gold. Please consider donating to our Families Helping Families this holiday season. Tomorrow at school is festive hat/hair.  We look forward to seeing everyone in the holiday spirit. Friday is AM Kindergarten.

Today we continued to learn about hibernation. We took a closer look at bears and explore some non fiction stories about bears. We had many inquiries and wonders about bears and made a list of questions we want to know more about. We looked at how bears prepare for hibernation. And watched a video of some bears getting their den ready for hibernation. Ask your child how they prepare their den for hibernation. We did a science experiment to learn about the bears fur and their layer of fat that helps keep them insulated and warm during the winter months. We explored this by feeling ice on our hands and then using a layer of fat (butter) and placing the ice over the fat. Ask your child what they noticed.  We played a math domino game in pairs. We are practicing how to recognize numbers in a small set (subitizing) and then count on from that set.  The children had music and gym today.  Tomorrow there is NO school due to parent teacher conferences. You will receive a link in your email to t
