2021-2022 EHS Kindergarten

We were very excited as today was building day! We built our creations for Fuzzy/Lulu. The grade 3/4 students from Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Turner's classes joined us and helped our class with building and testing our creations. Ask your child to explain their creation and how it helps Fuzzy/Lulu.   Mrs. Conley’s and Mrs. Mask’s PM class had gym. AM classes and Mrs. McLean’s class had music.    Thank you to the friends who did show and tell. We enjoyed seeing and listening about items that make our friends happy.  Tomorrow is PM Kindergarten. We will be doing a community walk. Please dress for the weather. Thank you :)

We practiced writing “O and Q”. We talked about the sound it makes and the words that start with the letter “O and Q”.    We revisited our design challenge and made any changes needed to our plan.    We read “The Pigeon Wants a Hot Dog” and made predictions based on the book. Ask your child what they predicted and if their prediction was correct.    PM: We practiced measuring the length of our blue journal using different manipulatives.    In gym, we did “rocks and rings” and tried to get the rock to the middle of the rings.    AM and Mrs. McLean’s classes had gym. Mrs. Mask’s PM class had music.    Thank you to our friends who did show and tell today.     Show and Tell (Thursday)  ​​ AM: Henry, Daniyal, Dante   PM: Samaira, Adam, Chavel PM Kindergarten practiced a fire drill. Our learners worked on being safe, serious and silent during the drill. Great job! ***For our design challenge tomorrow, we are asking if children can bring a stuffy with them to school. Today we began our measurement unit. We practiced measuring objects to compare sizes. Ask your child how to properly measure the length of an object.  AM: We continued manipulating our design challenge materials and made another prototype and plan for our design challenge. Ask your child what they plan on making to help Fuzzy! PM: We began our I Belong Social Studies unit. We talked about how families are all unique, but the important thing is that they love and care for each other. Students drew a picture of their family.  AM and Mrs. McLean's class had music. Mrs. Mask's AM/PM classes had curling. Friday is PM Kindergarten. We are looking for  3 volunteers on Thursday March 31st for AM and PM classes  for their design thinking challenge.
