Wednesday April 20

We started our day with Writing Wednesday. Our learners are doing a wonderful job with labelling their pictures and attempting to write sentences independently.

We continued on our exploration of the ocean. Today we learned about the layers of the ocean. We watched a video and then created the layers of the ocean in our class. We placed ocean creatures in each layer. Ask your child about the layers and what aquatic life we find in the layers.

We learned about syllables and practiced clapping out our names and other objects in the class. We played a smartboard game to practice how many syllables in each word. Can you practice tapping or clapping out syllables at home.

We had centers and gym.

This week Kindergarten students are working in-school with Lexi Hilderman from Radiant Art on our final two outdoor murals.

EHS students helped design these final two panels with artist Rebecca Ellison in the fall, clarifying and improving on the initial designs through the fall. The designs are now finished and the blank mural panels have been prepared. Our EHS learners will be bringing them to life over the next six weeks!

Friday is PM Kindergarten.

Police Screening:  Kindergarten will be going on a field trip to Glenbow Ranch on Thursday May 19.  We will require many volunteers to help us out!  In order to volunteer all adults must have a current police screening with CBE.  If you are interested in volunteering please contact the main office to complete the necessary paperwork.  If you complete the paperwork in the next week your screening will be back in time for you to be able to join us.
