Tuesday April 5

We learned how to write the letter “S” and the sound it makes. We also talked about some words that start with the letter “S”. 

 

We read “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” and talked about if we would let the pigeon drive the bus. To show who would and wouldn’t, we made a class graph. 

 

AM: We read “All Kinds of Family” and talked about our family. Then we drew and wrote about what we like to do as a family. 

 

PM: We read “Love Makes a Family” and talked about what we like to do as a family. After, we wrote about it. 

 

For gym, we started soccer. We practiced dribbling and kicking the soccer ball. 

 

Mrs. Conley’s and Mrs. Mask’s PM classes had gym. AM classes and Mrs. McLean’s class had music. 

Please help ... we are looking to replenish our Home Reading prizes.  We are looking for small trinkets that you might have left over at home.  This could include left over items from birthday party grab bags, old happy meal toys, small notepads, etc.  These items do not need to be new but we would appreciate them being in  good shape.  If you have anything like this that would work for us to add to our prize bucket, please send the items with your child this week.  Many thanks for your support of this initiative!

Thursday is Spring Picture Day.

Friday is AM Kindergarten.  

No school Friday April 15 (Good Friday) and Monday April 18 (PD Day).

Each Kindergarten child will need an empty Klennex box for an upcoming project at school.  Please send all Klennex boxes to school by Monday April 11.  If you have more than one empty box, please feel free to send it along.  Thank you!

Today we chose 3 books to come home for home reading. Please send the books back on Thursday and write the book titles only ONCE on the book log sheet. Happy Reading :) We read, " I Am Love " and talked about what makes us feel loved. We drew picture about what love is and shared with the class.  We played bears in den and practiced making 10. We looked at Bees today. We read some non fiction stories about Bees and Sci Kids video about Busy Bees. Ask your child what they learned about bees.  We did a guided drawing of a bee. We were so impressed by our learners and their drawings. They have become quite the artists.  We practiced our make ten card game with a partner.  We played  " Fuzz Bugs Number Factory " and practiced making number bonds to 10. If you play on a desktop, you can access www.abcya.com  We have also been playing  Addition Bubble Buster  on Education.com to practice making 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music. We had centers.  This Friday is PM Kindergarten.  There will be no more book exchange this year . Please return your books for next week so that Mrs. Carde can catalogue all of the books . Monday May 16

 Today was class picture day.  We exchanged our home reading. Your child brought home 3 books. Please return them on Thursday. We did our school wide write for Kindergarten today. We looked at a picture of Spring and wrote about all the things we saw or like to do in the Spring. The children are really working hard at writing down the sounds they hear in the words. We are so proud of all the progress they have made in their writing this year.  We started our research about Dolphins. We read, "Dolphins" and watch videos about the dolphin. Ask your child to share an interesting fact they learned about dolphins.  We had centers. AM kindergarten went outside.
