We read “I Really Like Slop” and talked about how many characters Mo Willems uses in his books. Then we created a story using either 1 or 2 characters. Ask your child what story they created. 

In math, we learned about measuring mass using a scale. We talked about the difference between heavy and light and got to test different objects to determine which ones are heavy and light.

 

AM: We practiced writing the letter “J” and learned about the sound it makes. We had a conversation about words that start with the letter “J”. 

 

PM: We learned how to write the letter “T” and the sound it makes. Then we talked about words that start with the letter “T.” 

 

For gym, we practiced shooting the soccer balls into the net. 

 

AM classes and Ms. McLean’s class had gym. Ms. Mask’s PM class had music. 


Each Kindergarten child will need an empty Klennex box for an upcoming project at school.  Please send all Klennex boxes to school by Monday April 11.  If you have more than one empty box, please feel free to send it along.  Thank you!

Today we chose 3 books to come home for home reading. Please send the books back on Thursday and write the book titles only ONCE on the book log sheet. Happy Reading :) We read, " I Am Love " and talked about what makes us feel loved. We drew picture about what love is and shared with the class.  We played bears in den and practiced making 10. We are practicing using our fingers and counting on to help us figure out ways to make 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music and AM and Mrs. McLean's class had gym.  Today we watched the a video to kick start the Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser. We looked at Bees today. We read some non fiction stories about Bees and Sci Kids video about Busy Bees. Ask your child what they learned about bees.  We did a guided drawing of a bee. We were so impressed by our learners and their drawings. They have become quite the artists.  We practiced our make ten card game with a partner.  We played  " Fuzz Bugs Number Factory " and practiced making number bonds to 10. If you play on a desktop, you can access www.abcya.com  We have also been playing  Addition Bubble Buster  on Education.com to practice making 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music. We had centers.  This Friday is PM Kindergarten.  There will be no more book exchange this year . Please return your books for next week so that Mrs. Carde can catalogue all of the books . Monday May 16

 Today was class picture day.  We exchanged our home reading. Your child brought home 3 books. Please return them on Thursday. We did our school wide write for Kindergarten today. We looked at a picture of Spring and wrote about all the things we saw or like to do in the Spring. The children are really working hard at writing down the sounds they hear in the words. We are so proud of all the progress they have made in their writing this year.  We started our research about Dolphins. We read, "Dolphins" and watch videos about the dolphin. Ask your child to share an interesting fact they learned about dolphins.  We had centers. AM kindergarten went outside.
