Wednesday March 30

We practiced writing “O and Q”. We talked about the sound it makes and the words that start with the letter “O and Q”. 

 

We revisited our design challenge and made any changes needed to our plan. 

 

We read “The Pigeon Wants a Hot Dog” and made predictions based on the book. Ask your child what they predicted and if their prediction was correct. 

 

PM: We practiced measuring the length of our blue journal using different manipulatives. 

 

In gym, we did “rocks and rings” and tried to get the rock to the middle of the rings. 

 

AM and Mrs. McLean’s classes had gym. Mrs. Mask’s PM class had music.

PM Kindergarten practiced a fire drill. Our learners worked on being safe, serious and silent during the drill. Great job!


***For our design challenge tomorrow, we are asking if children can bring a stuffy with them to school. See photo for reference. We are looking for toys around the same size, so that the children can test out their designs. ( About 15cm or around 6 inches)***






 

 Friday is PM Kindergarten.


Upcoming : Thursday April 7 is Spring Picture Day.

Today we chose 3 books to come home for home reading. Please send the books back on Thursday and write the book titles only ONCE on the book log sheet. Happy Reading :) We read, " I Am Love " and talked about what makes us feel loved. We drew picture about what love is and shared with the class.  We played bears in den and practiced making 10. Monday May 16

 Today was class picture day.  We exchanged our home reading. Your child brought home 3 books. Please return them on Thursday. We did our school wide write for Kindergarten today. We looked at a picture of Spring and wrote about all the things we saw or like to do in the Spring. The children are really working hard at writing down the sounds they hear in the words. We are so proud of all the progress they have made in their writing this year.  We started our research about Dolphins. We read, "Dolphins" and watch videos about the dolphin. Ask your child to share an interesting fact they learned about dolphins.  We had centers. AM kindergarten went outside. We looked at Bees today. We read some non fiction stories about Bees and Sci Kids video about Busy Bees. Ask your child what they learned about bees.  We did a guided drawing of a bee. We were so impressed by our learners and their drawings. They have become quite the artists.  We practiced our make ten card game with a partner.  We played  " Fuzz Bugs Number Factory " and practiced making number bonds to 10. If you play on a desktop, you can access www.abcya.com  We have also been playing  Addition Bubble Buster  on Education.com to practice making 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music.
