Welcome back to school!  We were happy to see everyone's smiling faces back at school!

We exchanged our home reading. Please return it on Thursday. Happy Reading :)

Some of our friends shared their show and tell. 

We started our plan for our design thinking challenge. We have to create something that will help Fuzzy/Lulu get around the classroom. Ask your child what they decided to build. What materials are they going to use for their plan. 

We started an author study on Mo Willems. We started by reading, "The Pigeon Needs A Bath" and then drew about our favourite part of the story.  

In gym, we started the Rocks and Rings program. The children played, ready, shoot, aim where they tried to deliver a stone between the cones. All classes attended gym except for Mrs Mask's PM class had music. 

We are looking for 3 volunteer on Thursday March 31st for AM and PM classes for their design thinking challenge. Please email your child's teacher if you are able to help out. Thank you. 

Friday is PM Kindergarten.

Today we chose 3 books to come home for home reading. Please send the books back on Thursday and write the book titles only ONCE on the book log sheet. Happy Reading :) We read, " I Am Love " and talked about what makes us feel loved. We drew picture about what love is and shared with the class.  We played bears in den and practiced making 10. We are practicing using our fingers and counting on to help us figure out ways to make 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music and AM and Mrs. McLean's class had gym.  Today we watched the a video to kick start the Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser. We looked at Bees today. We read some non fiction stories about Bees and Sci Kids video about Busy Bees. Ask your child what they learned about bees.  We did a guided drawing of a bee. We were so impressed by our learners and their drawings. They have become quite the artists.  We practiced our make ten card game with a partner.  We played  " Fuzz Bugs Number Factory " and practiced making number bonds to 10. If you play on a desktop, you can access www.abcya.com  We have also been playing  Addition Bubble Buster  on Education.com to practice making 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music. We had centers.  This Friday is PM Kindergarten.  There will be no more book exchange this year . Please return your books for next week so that Mrs. Carde can catalogue all of the books . Monday May 16

 Today was class picture day.  We exchanged our home reading. Your child brought home 3 books. Please return them on Thursday. We did our school wide write for Kindergarten today. We looked at a picture of Spring and wrote about all the things we saw or like to do in the Spring. The children are really working hard at writing down the sounds they hear in the words. We are so proud of all the progress they have made in their writing this year.  We started our research about Dolphins. We read, "Dolphins" and watch videos about the dolphin. Ask your child to share an interesting fact they learned about dolphins.  We had centers. AM kindergarten went outside.
