Wednesday February 2
Today was writing Wednesday. We talked about what qualities make a good friend and created a list. In our writing journals, we drew a picture about what makes a good friend and chose a few qualities from our list.
We learned a new math game called bears in a den. We played in partners. We started with 5 bears. One partner would hid some bears in the den and the other partner would have to figure out how many bears were in the den. We talked about how we knew the answer. Practice this game at home. Once you can play with 5, try playing with 10.
We learned about the letter Ll and the sound it makes. We practiced printing the letter L in our printing booklets. Can you find items at home that start with the letter L?
We read a friendship book and played "that's me". Someone in the class states something they like and if you do to, you stand and say "that's me". We learned that many of us like similar things!
We had gym and centers.
Valentine's Day February 14
Children will be invited to bring valentines for their classmates. We ask that your child signs the cards prior to bringing them to school. Please leave the "to" section blank as it is very time consuming for the children to match all their classmates names to valentine's day bags. If you choose to bring valentines day cards please bring enough for your child's class.
