Monday February 7

Today we chose 3 books to come home for home reading. Please send the books back on Thursday and write the book titles only ONCE on the book log sheet. Happy Reading :)

We read, " I Am Love " and talked about what makes us feel loved. We drew picture about what love is and shared with the class. 

We played bears in den and practiced making 10. We are practicing using our fingers and counting on to help us figure out ways to make 10. 

Mrs. Mask's PM class had music and AM and Mrs. McLean's class had gym. 

Today we watched the a video to kick start the Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser. You can check out the video here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4lxRqiU628  We learned about the importance to keep active and have a healthy heart. Over the next two weeks, we will be practising how to jump rope in gym. If you have a rope at home, get outside and have fun !

 Today was class picture day.  We exchanged our home reading. Your child brought home 3 books. Please return them on Thursday. We did our school wide write for Kindergarten today. We looked at a picture of Spring and wrote about all the things we saw or like to do in the Spring. The children are really working hard at writing down the sounds they hear in the words. We are so proud of all the progress they have made in their writing this year.  We started our research about Dolphins. We read, "Dolphins" and watch videos about the dolphin. Ask your child to share an interesting fact they learned about dolphins.  We had centers. AM kindergarten went outside. We had a preview of the book fair today. If you would like to purchase a book, you may send some cash with your child in their backpack and we will send them to the book fair to purchase. Today we listened to the story  Another Book About Bears  and then we worked on making new animals for a window book.  Please watch the classroom windows this week as the our book will begin to appear for all to enjoy. We had gym with Mr. Campbell where we played Mission Impossible.  There were many obstacles set up and we had so much fun pretending to be spies as we worked our way through the course.
