Tuesday November 16

Today was a great day at school!  We were pattern explorers and spent time looking in the hallway and hub for patterns in the school.  Please ask your child what patterns they were able to find.  

PM kindergarten worked on patterning by making pattern sweaters with stickers.

We continued to explore our 5 senses and played a game where we used our sense of touch to bring items to the carpet.  We began to talk about our sense of taste.  Tomorrow we will continue exploring our sense of taste and we examine what is in our lunch kits at snack time.

We had music and gym.  Please ask your child what they did.

Friday is PM Kindergarten.  

Parent teacher conferences are Thursday November 25 and Friday November 26.  Bookings for conferences will open on Saturday morning.  Please watch your email from the school for further information on how to book a conference.  Thursday November 25 is a regular day of school for both AM/PM classes.  There will be a substitute teacher in for Mrs. Mask in the afternoon of Nov 25 so that she is able to meet with all her families.

Tomorrow we will be going outside to make patterns in nature.  Please make sure your child is dressed to be outside for 30 mins.  Please make sure your child has gloves/mitts, hat, winter jacket, boots and snow pants.

Today we chose 3 books to come home for home reading. Please send the books back on Thursday and write the book titles only ONCE on the book log sheet. Happy Reading :) We read, " I Am Love " and talked about what makes us feel loved. We drew picture about what love is and shared with the class.  We played bears in den and practiced making 10. We looked at Bees today. We read some non fiction stories about Bees and Sci Kids video about Busy Bees. Ask your child what they learned about bees.  We did a guided drawing of a bee. We were so impressed by our learners and their drawings. They have become quite the artists.  We practiced our make ten card game with a partner.  We played  " Fuzz Bugs Number Factory " and practiced making number bonds to 10. If you play on a desktop, you can access www.abcya.com  We have also been playing  Addition Bubble Buster  on Education.com to practice making 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music. We had centers.  This Friday is PM Kindergarten.  There will be no more book exchange this year . Please return your books for next week so that Mrs. Carde can catalogue all of the books . Monday May 16

 Today was class picture day.  We exchanged our home reading. Your child brought home 3 books. Please return them on Thursday. We did our school wide write for Kindergarten today. We looked at a picture of Spring and wrote about all the things we saw or like to do in the Spring. The children are really working hard at writing down the sounds they hear in the words. We are so proud of all the progress they have made in their writing this year.  We started our research about Dolphins. We read, "Dolphins" and watch videos about the dolphin. Ask your child to share an interesting fact they learned about dolphins.  We had centers. AM kindergarten went outside.
