Today we read the story, "The Thankful Book" and talked about what it means to be thankful. We made a heart map in our visual journals and drew pictures of everything we are thankful for in our life. 

We learned about small world play and created a house for a woodland creature. We used loose parts to make the animals home. We talked about telling a story as we play with the creatures. The kindergartens did an amazing job telling stories about their animals.

We had fun snack. Mrs. McLean's class had music. If you would like to purchase it for your child see the instructions below.

To access fun snack/lunch:

Enter into the Healthy Hunger website at healthyhunger.ca using your account information and add your student. If you are new to Healthy Hunger, you will need to register your student through the homepage. Note there are 2 options, Eric Harvie (Grade 1-4) or Eric Harvie Kindergarten. Once your student is added you will be able to see upcoming events for fun snack and fun lunch. 'Order Now' on the chosen event and add quantity to the selected snack/lunch item. Add to cart or pay now.

Today we chose 3 books to come home for home reading. Please send the books back on Thursday and write the book titles only ONCE on the book log sheet. Happy Reading :) We read, " I Am Love " and talked about what makes us feel loved. We drew picture about what love is and shared with the class.  We played bears in den and practiced making 10. We looked at Bees today. We read some non fiction stories about Bees and Sci Kids video about Busy Bees. Ask your child what they learned about bees.  We did a guided drawing of a bee. We were so impressed by our learners and their drawings. They have become quite the artists.  We practiced our make ten card game with a partner.  We played  " Fuzz Bugs Number Factory " and practiced making number bonds to 10. If you play on a desktop, you can access www.abcya.com  We have also been playing  Addition Bubble Buster  on Education.com to practice making 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music. We had centers.  This Friday is PM Kindergarten.  There will be no more book exchange this year . Please return your books for next week so that Mrs. Carde can catalogue all of the books . Monday May 16

 Today was class picture day.  We exchanged our home reading. Your child brought home 3 books. Please return them on Thursday. We did our school wide write for Kindergarten today. We looked at a picture of Spring and wrote about all the things we saw or like to do in the Spring. The children are really working hard at writing down the sounds they hear in the words. We are so proud of all the progress they have made in their writing this year.  We started our research about Dolphins. We read, "Dolphins" and watch videos about the dolphin. Ask your child to share an interesting fact they learned about dolphins.  We had centers. AM kindergarten went outside.
