Wednesday September 22

Today we read, "The Family Book" by Todd Parr. We talked about our own families. We drew pictures of our families in our blue journals and practiced our writing by telling about our favourite thing to do with our family with our swirly printing, swirl combo and letter printing. We are working on using any letter sounds we know and writing them down.

We talked about our 5 senses. We played two games that practiced our sense of sight and hearing. We played a sight memory game where we looked a 5 different objects and then closed our eyes and had to tell which item was missing. You can practice this game at home.

We played a guess the sound game. We heard a sound then had to draw our guess on the whiteboard. We had a lot of fun playing this game! We had great guesses to the sounds. 

We had big centers today. 

Mrs. Mask's PM class had music with Mrs. Coulson. 

Please check your child's backpack today as their coloured folders have come home with important information about your child's google email account and access to the google meet. You will need this information to for parent teacher virtual conferences as we will be using the google meet platform for our virtual time slot. 

** The paper includes your child's gmail address, CBE ID number and password.  All Kindergarten students have the same password of cat54321. We ask that you please do not change your child's password while they are in Kindergarten.  It is much easier and more efficient for us as teachers to be able to access everyone's account using the same password.  Students will be given the opportunity to change their passwords in Grade 1.**

Please return your child's coloured folder tomorrow. Thank you.

Today we chose 3 books to come home for home reading. Please send the books back on Thursday and write the book titles only ONCE on the book log sheet. Happy Reading :) We read, " I Am Love " and talked about what makes us feel loved. We drew picture about what love is and shared with the class.  We played bears in den and practiced making 10. Monday May 16

 Today was class picture day.  We exchanged our home reading. Your child brought home 3 books. Please return them on Thursday. We did our school wide write for Kindergarten today. We looked at a picture of Spring and wrote about all the things we saw or like to do in the Spring. The children are really working hard at writing down the sounds they hear in the words. We are so proud of all the progress they have made in their writing this year.  We started our research about Dolphins. We read, "Dolphins" and watch videos about the dolphin. Ask your child to share an interesting fact they learned about dolphins.  We had centers. AM kindergarten went outside. We looked at Bees today. We read some non fiction stories about Bees and Sci Kids video about Busy Bees. Ask your child what they learned about bees.  We did a guided drawing of a bee. We were so impressed by our learners and their drawings. They have become quite the artists.  We practiced our make ten card game with a partner.  We played  " Fuzz Bugs Number Factory " and practiced making number bonds to 10. If you play on a desktop, you can access www.abcya.com  We have also been playing  Addition Bubble Buster  on Education.com to practice making 10.  Mrs. Mask's PM class had music.
