Tuesday September 28

Today was Orange shirt day. We watched a video Orange Shirt Day that talked about why we wear orange shirts on September 30.

We read the story, " My Heart Fills With Happiness " and talked about what fills our heart with happiness. See your child's answers below.

We mixed red and yellow paint to make orange paint and painted our own orange shirt in our visual journals.

We had music with Mrs. Coulson. Ask your child what they did in music. Mrs. Mask's PM kindergarten had gym.

Terry Fox School Run

Our school is proud to take part in this year's Terry Fox School Event.  Please help us to continue the legacy of one of Canada's greatest heroes, by donating and supporting our school's fundraising efforts.
Our Terry Fox School Run will take place on Friday, October 1, 2021.  To keep our participants safe during the pandemic we will be sending our students out in their grade cohorts on that day. Our run will take place in the school field south of the school.

Friday is AM Kindergarten.  PM Kindergarten is invited to join the run at 11:15am in the field with a parent while AM Kindergarten is outside.  We hope that our friends in PM kindergarten are able to join us.

Eric Harvie School is talking part in the in the TRY LIKE TERRY CHALLENGE.  We have challenged the school to raise $2000.00.  If we are successful, we will be having a movie and popcorn celebration on a date TBD.

To also keep our students and staff safe, we will be only accepting donations online. Please share the following link with friends and family to help us reach our goal.

Show your support:

1.) Donate online to our school page http://www.terryfox.ca/EricHarvieSchool
Terry Fox said, "anything is possible if you try." Inspired by his amazing example, our school is proudly taking part in this year's Terry Fox School Run.Please consider supporting us in our try, and help us raise much-needed funds for cancer research.

Terry's Story
At the age of. 18, Terry Fox was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma and was forced to have his right leg amputated. Determined to help others suffering from cancer, he decided to run across Canada, running a marathon a day for 143 days, to raise funds for cancer research.  Unfortunately, Terry's cancer returned, and he was forced to end his Marathon of Hope, but his legacy had only just begun.

Today, the future of cancer research is very bright. The Terry Fox Foundation funds a variety of different cancer research projects such as lung, breast, ovarian, colorectal, pediatric, prostrate, brain and blood.  With your support, we will continue to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
