Tuesday June 21

Today we learned about Worms. We read, "The Worm" by Elise Gravel and watched wonderful worms.We drew a worm in our visual journals. Ask your child what interesting facts they learned about worms. 

Our learners are very excited for our field trip tomorrow especially to look for insects since we have been talking about them the last two weeks. 

We read "Monkey's Missing Bananas" and talked about what subtraction means. We played a game with a partner with 5 bears and took turns hiding the bears and had to say how many were missing. 

We played outside and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine! We had centers. 

There is NO school for Kindergarten on Friday. 

Field trip Reminder :)

Tomorrow, Wednesday June 22nd, Eric Harvie School will be attending a field trip at Glenbow Ranch.  Field trip forms were completed for the postponed trip in May so new forms are not required for Wednesday.
Both AM/PM classes will be attending school all day for the field trip. Please note for the field trip day our school day will be from 8:20am to 2:30pm.  Please pack a lunch, snacks, bottle of water and dress in comfortable shoes for walking. Please pack food items that are easy for your child to eat while sitting on the ground. Your child will be carrying their backpack all day with them. Please remove any items that aren't necessary for the day's activities. 
The weather can change quite a bit in the day so please dress for the weather (in layers) so your child will be comfortable. If your child is wearing sunscreen/ bug spray, please apply it before coming to school. 
Please arrive at 2:30 to pick up your child from our regular dismissal door. 

Please send us an email if your child cannot attend the field trip on that day.

 Hello Kindergarten!!! I am Jennele Coulson and I teach you (your student) music twice a week.  We have so much fun together.  At the end of every month you can expect a post from me keeping you up to date with that we have been working on in music class.  I have so much to update you on.   At Eric Harvie there is a huge focus on peace songs.  We began the year by learning one of our favourites. Thursday March 10

If you have booked an online conference, your child is bringing home their blue journal and white visual journal.  Please look through these journals prior to your interview time.  Please return the journals to us on Monday.  If you booked an in person conference, your child's work will be at the school for you to look at with them.  All journals will be sent home at the end of June for you to keep.  Many thanks! Today was a great day at school.  Thank you to everyone who helped their child bring Show and Tell this week.  Please check the show and tell calendar that was emailed to you last week and mark your child's date on the calendar. As a reminder ... Cultural Artifact   In Social Studies, we are learning about what makes each of us unique. To help us learn about each other, we are asking that each child bring in a cultural artifact (object) that represents (or is important) to your family. We started our day with picking prizes from the prize box for home reading. (Mrs. Mask forgot to get the prizes out for PM. PM will get them tomorrow :) Thank you for your patience Kinders ) We are all done with home reading this year and we are very proud of all our learners for all their effort and hard work. Thank you to the parents for practicing with your children at home! Keep up your reading over the summer months. AM Kindergarten had a special visit from Mrs. Bowles Grade 1/2 class who practiced their readers theater. Well done Grade 1/2!  We read, "National Geographic for Kids Ants" book and watched a video about ants. We did a guided drawing of an ant in our visual journals. Ask your child what they learned about Ants.  PM Kindergarten did their favourite bug out of construction paper.  We went outside to play. Mrs. Mask's PM class had music.
